Default 1999 XCR 700 gasket set question

I picked up a 1999 XCR 700 awhile ago that I'm going to drop in my backup 02 edge. I'm going through it now and I was looking up a full gasket set for it from winderosa on ebay and the compatibility chart shows it only fits the 800. When I go to polaris it shows the same gaskets for both. Anyone know if there is a difference between the two sets? Thanks.

it fits both i believe. it's been a while but i did rebuild a couple of the one year xcr 700 triple triple and i'an pretty sure the 700/800 was the same gaskets. the only difference if there is one would be head o-ring size. everything else is the same. it's the very same case,ex. etc. just necked down cylinders. but i think the o-rings are the same as well?

Thank's Rick. I checked all the important gaskets and they are all the same. Winderosa doesn't even show a 99 700 in there catalog, it only goes to 98. I bought the set so I guess I'll find out for sure when I get them.

I think you'll find the o-rings will fit too.

Good luck in finding a piston if you need one, I was able to find a new one 2 years ago from a dealer friend, but it was the only one they had.

Yep, the orings are the same also. I figure if I loose a piston I'll go with wiseco's or put an 800 top end on it. If I put on the same amount of miles that I've put on the last few years I'm good for at least 20 years. lol

The gaskets came in the other day and they are vertex formerly winderosa. I never heard of them. It's been awhile since I bought any gaskets but the last one's I bought were just winderosa. Anyone have experiance with these? are they the same as the old one's?
