The truth on how much power

I have been thinking about a 1200 renegade, but I am getting mixed answers on how fast these are. I only know 1 person besides a salesman with seat time on one. He said lots of power but he was in trails were he could not go over 60 mph. A sales guy today said there a tourqey 600 and that a stock 800 will kill them in a race. Others say there as fast as a 800 until top end. I know HP is down compared to 800s, but does the tourqe make up for it?

stock its a 95 - 100 mph sled; speaking from my experience on my 2011 1200 TNT

smooth motor with alot of torque

came from a 600 etec

it beats the 600's.

it beats some 800's.

ive seen 98.6mph with just over 150 miles on the sled. this winter i know it will break 100mph easily.

How much power are you looking for? I see you have a IQ 600. The 1200 will be faster and more responsive than your Polaris. I've owned lots of powerful sleds over the years. ZRT 800's and ZR 700's and 800's, Yamaha Apex. My 1200 feels every bit as fast as all those sleds. Its a blast corner to corner and has gobs of torque when climbing hills. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the performance of the 1200 Doo.

I had a 2010 Tnt 1200 for last season. I saw 115mph on the speedometer on one of the first rides out with a super clean clutch and a new belt. The rest of the season. Mostly 110-105mph. Out of the whole its a rocket. It will wip a 600 no problem.

All things that i want to hear. Seams like the dealers want to push the etecs, i would love one, but do not trust the isoflex bearings for the miles i will put on in a few years of riding. The last sled that i had that i was happy with the power and speed was a 2000 XC700SP. The 600s are good until lakes, where with my weight and a head wind seams like i have to really hold it to maintain the 80 mph range.

Thats the nice thing about the 4 stroke engine. The torque of the engine will pull hard no matter the conditions. When you ride double or into a head wind a 2 stroke 600 will lose power, not so with a 4stroke. The 4 stroke will pull just as hard riding double or riding single. The 1200 has a huge powerband and always feels like its right in the middle of it. Another nice thing is you can run any kind of gas in the 1200 and it will perform fine. There is nothing finicky about the 1200 engine, it runs spot on all the time.:bc2:

I've done a couple of top speed runs on my 1200X last winter. The sled has more than enough power in my opinion. Its much faster than my 600SDI was.

On a relatively hard packed trail this was my result. I know there's a speedo margin of error, but this is what the display recorded.
