900ace vs 600

Hey fellas and ladies, I am looking for advice on what to buy for my wife.
For the people who have rode the 900 tnt or renegade and the 600 Etec......what would you recommend?
The big deal is being reliable.....if she breaks down on a trip or has any issues..Im screwed!!!!
Any constructive input would be great.

Thanks in advance.

If reliability is your number one factor than the 900 ACE is the answer without a doubt.

If you want high reliability in the short term, I might lean 600, since there is less stuff to mess up.

Just went through the same debate for the wife. I ended up buying a 600 etec Blizzard based on the weight, low maintenance and low kilometers she drives, should never wear that 600 out. The Blizzard also comes with deluxe gauge, adjustable carbides and ice ripper track so it's good to go.

We had 900 renegades, and 600e-techs.
The 900 is fast from 0 to 70 MPH then flattens out..The 600 will have more top end speed.
We had 20,000 trouble free KMS. on both 900"s..
The E-techs we had were not very reliable..

The 900 ACE is the definition of gas and go , it is the best all around trail sled built

right there's your answer, two strokes you need to rebuild, 4 strokes you run forever

Any sled can have issues. The 600 etecs have been amazingly reliable for our group. Among us we have at least 4 of them with more than 7000 trouble free miles.

If you get a 900 ACE and want reliable, make sure whatever you buy has mechanical and not the electric actuated reverse.

You didn't mention strength, if she's up for it you could also look at a 1200, good back up for you and reliable. Keep a few spare relays and a coil wire in your pack and you should be good to go.

I have 900 Ace Blizzard with 7k miles that I've ridden in Quebec & Vermont. Only thing I did was swap to Dupont slides and change the oil once a year. My friend has 10k on his 900 Enduro with electronic reverse. Like Jethro said it did have to warranty work on the Rev.
As far as 600 etec, I've owned 2 previous to 900 Ace. The Ace does everything right, quiet, good on gas, easy throttle pull, 3 modes for changing conditions, no smoke. It does run out of steam at top end. It's sorta like vanilla ice cream it's ice cream but not a Sundae. Now I just picked up a 2012 600 etec for a spare sled. It's fun! Lately the 900 hadn't got much love. Either way, you can't go wrong. Both are popular models.
