Default Helping small business

I have contacted our local upholstery guy and he's recovering my dining room chairs.

I bought plants from a local nursery.

I've hired a handy man guy to till my garden.

I'm interviewing tree guys to have a huge dead maple taken down.

Truck (s) is going to the mechanic for maintenance.

Bought garden amendments from the locally owned hardware where my daughter works.

Interviewing masons to get my front steps and walkway done.

Will call my asphalt guy to repair my driveway.

Mailed a check to the local food Bank.

Hopefully will finally replace my lawn tractor, and will go to the small engine equipment guy instead of a chain.

Getting take out twice a week and tipping heavily.

That's a start. Might need pool work done too.

I am getting by with what I have right now but my wife and I have already agreed that any money we get from the government will automatically be dumped somewhere at the businesses in our small town. No Big Box Stores involved.

I can tell you taking down overgrown yews, and junipers sucks. Been working on them for weeks. Finally removed the last one this morning.

I took advantage of home delivery from a small brewery a few towns away. Also ordered a pile of CDs from a Maine owned music store that announced it's employees would be paid while they were sent home from work for this. Bought a new revolver and ammo from the local shop over the weekend.

I thought we all were supposed to stay home unless absolutely necessary.

Just a fyi. I will cut you some slack considering the situation we are all in. How about just say, order take out and tip well, if you can afford to, consider helping a small local handyman, consider donating blood, maybe donate some money or food to a local food bank, if you have a pool, consider hiring out the maintenance instead of doing it yourself, etc etc. Instead of, "I" sent a check to the local food bank, "I" hired a handyman , "I" order take out and tip well. Another great me myself and I post.

But this isn't about a virus. The numbers just don't jive. Call me an asshole, I can take it, but they don't. If you need them again, just let me know.

If you have the ability please give people from your area the work if you can or they can do it. We all need to help out and not look at the gov to help are neighbor's. If I don't then then the day I need them they may not be there. Only my thought
