And after years of tired less effort the Madcatters have won the 800 class. With all the competition in the class this year it must have been rough. Congratulations

Well that explains it all right there, the overweight underpowered cat 800 had better traction. The fact that it was down almost 3mph shows its not making hp.

Since this is the GDF, I feel I should say something like, "Well, it's been about ten years since Cat last had a winning 800 at the Shootout, so I was getting tired of seeing Polarises win."

When will we get the full write-up? The conspiracy theories are already out there, just like they are every year. (Here are two of the popular ones I've seen: "The Doo and Polaris were still in break-in mode." "Livingston's has been accused of manipulating early season races in the past in order to sell Cats, so they probably had a ringer set aside for the shootout.")

Excellent posts, boys!! Excellent!!!

Default Cat 800 crushes Poo 850 at the shootout!!

If you figure in both runs on average, the Cat still lost. The 840 was 1/10 faster overall. the cat may have had had fast e/t which only says better traction to me. The 840 significant faster mph and far more consistent in e/t, I canít imagine the result if it had hooked up like the cat

Last year the cat split wins with the poo 840, The pooleaders made it quite clear that the race was for single run lowest et.

Using those rules cat 800 beat the 840 poo, and the cat turbo beat everyone.

my thought on the 850 patriot. the whole fucking motor is junk. 18 miles on mine and the coating is stuck in the rings, it's in the crank, etc. pistons are complete garbage. Kelsey had one of these apart and told me the motor was junk, now Indy Dan says it is.
