I agree with @mnstang. I am pretty sure the majority of snowmobilers don't care let alone know about the Iron Dog race.
what do you have to do in the cold and wind? stay hydrated. the race is about time. ever try to drink water with a full face helmet or even a motor cross helmet on? this is why the open helmets. this race has been lost due to dehydration more than once.

i'am pretty sure the mfg. think this race is a big deal. both ski-doo and Polaris spend stupid money on this race.

I am pretty sure not all mfg care...

I have never in my life heard a sled owner say they bought their sled because of the Iron Dog. Most sled owners don't care.

I bought my sled because of SnoX. I know a few guys that bought a Cat due their win at the Soo.

who said sled owners? the mfg. care trust me. cat is done of coarse they don't care textron is going to dump them. just watch and see.
