poo and doo would kill for a failure rate near as low as 1%-2% on their 840-850
What’s the failure rate of the Cat 850? Oh that’s right, they don’t make one.

Artic Cat fans would kill for a Cat 840-850 so that they could compete but Cat is still trying to figure out an epa complying 800.

Cat chose to make changes to the 800, that increased hp.

Poo was forced to make changes because of widespread failures.
So this was a failure on Cat's part or the real hp of the 2019 was less than 155 hp, another failure. Maybe 2021 will be different but the track record shows otherwise. No wonder very few buy these things

This is how rumors become fake news: I take the above quote and I can say,

"Word on the street is that Cat's new 800 is an epic failure"

Yet, it's not true at all. HP wasn't the reason for the revisions. If it were, they'd have increased displacement.

How does Cat's perform? Oh that's right they don't make one, lol. The Yamaha runs pretty good.

And, in my limited experience with the Thundercat, it's not just good, it's Quantum-mechanics, bending-light good.

Foot in mouth. Or are you quoting the past when it comes to turbos.

Why do they need one?
Their 800 Gen 1 CTEC split wins against the Poo 800 in the shootout, their Alpha 1 smoked the 850's up a real Mountain (I know I know its not the fabricated man made shootouts that no actual rider ever rides on, damn it all) and their 998 dusts the 850's so badly, its quite literally in a class of its own.
This class is known as 'top dog'.

No, were good.
We got an 800 that will make the power your 850 does or near it and probably be faster when its modded...the 850 is a nice marketing thing though.
