You could try some dare devil spoons or rebel crawfish....the nest raider crawfish works well for pike in bantam, or winchester lake. I know it works well for chain pickerel, already netted a couple over 5 lbs in east twin. Make sure to use a small wire leader with those...pike have nasty teeth.

Lol
I fish with my ultralight and 6lb test! I only lose a fish once in a while. And no wire leader.
Message me when your heading over to Bantam sometime. We'll "hook up" ha ha get it?

A man drowned there yesterday 😞

I never use anything more than 6 lb. test either, at least around here. Go further up north and those big pike will laugh at 6 lb. test with no wire leader. I know theres got be some pigs in bantam or winchester but i've never caught any bigger than 10 lbs. around here. Use to be a few big pike in cranberry pond near bantam too. We landed a 10 pounder many years back using a canoe to get in there. Yeah, heard about the growing on the news...sad way to start the holiday.

Looking at my old notes for pike at this time of year, found the rebel frog crank bait to be deadly to. Darker bull frog color best. Bigger northerns seem to get lazier as the season/waters get warmer so their not as active. Gotta hit them as soon as their season opens.

Never had any success using perch rapalas down here. I've caught pike, walleyes, and trout on them in quebec. Use to catch pike ice fishing using large live shiners here.

red mepps "willow leaf" spinner. i troll it from a kayak and let it get down a bit, and paddle to get the rod tip bouncing just that right speed. just fast enough to keep the blade spinning and get ready. i usually bring 2 since the pike bend the shit out of them. not 1 size like the picture but size 3.

big minnows or "pike minnows" can get you some nice pike, and even nicer smallmouth

Thanks Jerry. I rotated and saved the pic, uploaded to here and it flipped upside down. Don't know why.
