Pretty sure @Badger is the authority on measuring circumference. He should have a recommendation.

Anywho...he says he hasnít used anything to inspect the fittings or been told to but hes only been hauling fuel for about a year and half now. Also admits there are a few places he loads out of where the fittings have to be rotated to a certain position to allow it to couple. Maybe they are out of round a bit? Doesnít sound like a good place for guess work if you ask me!

Those are hard anodized, which is relatively thin.

Two things. It should be pretty easy to visually see if this is worn, and if it is worn that bad you are already shimming the cam locks on the hose adapter.

If you have new cam arms and they do not tighten things up when the hose adapter is rotated to various positions, it's time for new API adapter rings.

Some companies cheap out and rotate adapter rings because they usually wear out around the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, which is fine for a hose adapter, but does not equate with where the loading arm dry break coupler latches onto the API ring. If the ring is rotated for wear, you are setting up a situation where multiple wear points may affect dry break coupler latching.
