We rode from Copper Harbor to Silver City that particular day, and other than the upper 40 degree temperatures and the snow turning into mashed potatoes ... it was a great ride. You'll be able to head down towards Gogebic, easily ... up to Lake of the Clouds (must do), and plenty of other options. You could easily get down to your normal stomping ground of Mercer, Presque Isle, etc. too.
I enjoyed your post Chris. We will have a wide rang of ages doing this trip from 21 to 70 years old some will ride 250 miles a day and some 100 a day but its about being together at the end of the day. Dam kids still insist on riding with the old man, I must say they make me feel young again. One night this year 4 of us went for a ride for dinner well dam if I did know I was coming home with thirty sleds. Thous little shits kept me LMAO. I was looking out on the lake and to my shock they decided to take a row boat and hook to a sled and there they were flying across the lake in a boat and that's my daughter for ya. That's a nice area with a lot of directions and options. Do lake of the clouds if you haven't been there. In a strange deal Siver City is usually a little (not bad) light on snow until you get inland further.

Last time I was there I was riding a 1991 650 wildcat if I remember right?? We rode out of Hurley when we got back one of the strippers at Ricks stole my buddies wallet but we got it back.

A couple more generations of etec and the sled engines may be half a reliable as an evinrude, or cat
850 Doo
7-8% failure rate according to a FB poll to be honest and I would bet its very close to Cat % also.

Not trying to stick up for the CTEC II here, it is what it is, but other then the ECM flash for the flame, that's a solid engine. The Doo 850 and Poo 850 suffer from rotating assembly issues, far more expensive & time consuming.
However, I've heard, generally and neutrally speaking, much less about about the Doo 850's with issues then the Liberty motor.

I bought the 850 Doo and according to polls I have seen there maybe a 2-3% difference in the failure rate only. Everything is in question when it comes to mass production.

Exactly, of all the 850 Polaris sleds I know of, rode with and seen not a single one had an engine issue and most of them put on over 2000 miles. The actual percentage of 850s that had issues was low and the ones that did have problems Polaris went above and beyond making it right for those people.
