Default Shootout weekend is upon us!

The annual DynoTech / Amsnow shootout is this weekend ... any snow out there, or is it just finally getting cold like it has in the Midwest these past few days? It should be interesting this year with the new Cat 800 and whatever Polaris is bringing (maybe the Assault)? SkiDoo with the 850 seems like the logical choice if they run it with the other 800's but ya never know.

@krom - you gonna be there again this year? I'm guessing you're going to call the results as Cat, Doo, Pol in each of the respective classes?

Should we make the same wager this year with a 24-hour avatar change and a congratulatory post?

AFIK they are running the 850 against the 800's. But this year even the cat guys will have the "break in mode" excuse.

We're just getting a cold snap, was 50 yesterday, 30 today. The lake effect machine has fired up though, and they are calling for "up to two feet" in the heaviest hit areas. (which means anywhere from nothing at all to 3') Race will prob be on dirt or a few inches of snow.

Northern Herkimer- Including the cities of Big Moose, Eagle Bay, McKeever, Old Forge, Atwell, Nobleboro, and Northwood 610 PM EST Wed Dec 6 2017 ...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected north of Route 28. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 10 inches, are expected. * WHERE...Extreme northern Herkimer County. * WHEN...Through 6 AM Friday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Lake Effect Snow Warning means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
I'll be there.
It sucks that this year, they moved the race from fri, to sat.

No wager this year. At the last second whoever was going to do cat sleds (howards?)backed out, and a week before the event they where calling around looking for a new dealer to do it. We turned them down. Heard today that arctic adventures is going to do it.

I just hope you guys have some snow to run on this year ... although I guess the main thing is that the temps are cold. And if you guys are getting what we are, you should be set for colder temps this weekend.

I'm bummed that you won't make it interesting ... it's just fun. C'mon!!!

Same stupid shit as always...retards. New York morons driving around in the mud. Some get studs, some don't. How long is the track on the sled? No body knowsThis was semi relevant shit in about 1975, and they all cheated then

Who actually decides on what sleds they send to this shootout. Why wouldn't someone pick similar sleds that would be in the same class to compare sled for sled.

AFIK the magazine guys pick the sleds

Sleds are uncrated, studded, dyno'd, and kept under lock down to keep cheaters at bay. Then run down the same track, by the same rider, one right after another.

Who gives a fuck about any "race" where any of the sleds are in break in mode. That alone proves absolutely nothing unless you care about break in bragging rights at the bar. Gay gay gay
