Default Garmin Montana 610

I have a Garmin Montana 610 which I like because I can mount it on the sled, ATV, boat, truck or take it wherever I go.

For the most part I'm getting along with it pretty good but I'm getting older and sometimes get lost in the menu (I'm still having issues setting the clock on my VCR (that was a joke))

Problem I'm having is with tracking.
I would like to make a daily/trip track log that I can look back on and keep on Garmin Basecamp

Is there a forum specific to this GPS you are using for help?

It seems Basecamp has changed over the years, I used to just make sure my tracks were cleared then after the days ride I could download the tracks to Basecamp and it would create a date on the left side and you could turn on/off one or multiple dates and see where you went. But after getting a new PC I lost most of my history and it does not work like I remember, I'm sure I didn't export/import correct but I lost interest and have not figured it out. One reason I hate updating software for improvements they always seem to change a few things and I hate wasting a bunch of time just to get back to where I was. good luck!

On the main menu go to Set Up, then go to Tracks, then Auto Archive and push Daily.

On my Montana I have a custom home page. I have buttons for Map, Find Waypoint, Recent Finds, Mark Waypoint, Track Log on, Track Log off, Trip Computer, and Stop Navigation.

Before riding I turn Track Log on. End of ride I hit Track Log off, then open Track Manager, save current track, then clear current track. I set all my tracks to "Show on Map" until the map gets too crowded since we ride the lake a lot and the track logs are essential for night survival. Then open trip computer, snap a photo of the data, then reset trip computer to be zeros for next ride.

To keep all of these I connect my Montana to the computer and transfer them in to my collection.

All of this, but especially THIS:
