Not to derail the post but when I saw the show the other day and some idiot LEO is standing in the middle of a trail aiming a radar gun at oncoming traffic and he almost gets run over, I can't help but laugh.

One (Officer Canfield) is from my town and therefore many show segments from my immediate area. I run into him here and there on the trails and seems to be a good guy.

It's the beginning of the season and there's maybe 2" of packed crust on the RR bed (i was out last week). It's really not an issue of messing up the trail or posing a threat for another rider as it's straight as far as you can see.. what does it take 2 mins to unload those sleds? Chill

I posted this. I would never have backed up onto a trail to unload. He blocked the trail in both directions. One guy on this site said it wasn’t unsafe and maybe so, but who knows. In the dark when he does the same to load things are different. He was having a hell of a time trying to back over the snowbank also.

A few years back a LEO doing just this in northern MN was hit and killed by a sled doing 100+.

Oh yeah, weeks if not months if I remember right in the hospital, but survived. I don't think he went exactly 'home' after that though.....
