Default Loosing another dealer

Been hearing a rumor Erie Power Equipment in Newark NY is done with cats. I sure hope not great dealer to deal with big loss if itís true.

Powersports dealers are dropping like flies, especially those outside of "riding areas", The toys used to be relatively cheap and we use to ride them everywhere. People would buy stuff and ride on local streets and trails whenever it snowed and trailer north in between. And if you didn't have a sled you new someone that did. The sleds were all junk and never ran for long but we had a blast. Those days are gone. Today, you can't ride anything, anywhere that isn't a pay to ride trail system. Now us older guys who used to ride stuff locally and trailer to the snow to ride the trails still trailer when life doesn't get in the way, but unless they live in areas with constant snow and open trails, less and less young people today are getting a taste of riding. And many of them would rather stare at their phones all day.

I think you had the point, then you lost it.

I heard the same about Erie Power Equipment.

For the record, Erie Power Equipment is NOT going out of business, they are just dropping Arctic Cat Snowmobiles.

That now makes 4 dealers (O'meal's, Nelson's, Filer's, and now Erie) on the Eastside of Rochester that have all dropped Arctic Cat over the years.

Based on what I have heard, the main source of these Cat dealers closing is that Arctic Cat keeps forcing dealers to take more and more sleds (over the previous model year's delivery) when dealers are still sitting on 1 to 4 year old leftovers.

The small local dealer here went out 2 years ago. Between the 4 sled makers he was forced by quotas to take 50 machines. He only sold 13 the previous year, ended up folding. Sun and Snow RIP

Reading this makes me nervous for my local dealer.

All they do is mount and balance tires, and sell/service Cat.

There is only 2 brothers, and one of their sons.

Great guys too.

My local Cat dealer got rid of them last year from what I heard. I haven't been there in a long time since the owner is a real jerk so I guess its no surprise between lack of snow and people not wanting to deal with him. My closest dealer is Poo/Doo and he says he thinking of side stepping Doo. Apparently the package sizing they want you to sign on for includes wayyyy more in parts/accessories then actual sleds. This poor sport
