I thought they were all edge chassis. The hood is proXR 440, the chassis I believe was a 600 pro x?

Share the same body work but are dissimilar in the suspension and chassis.

Gotcha

So it would be considered the "edge" chassis and the "pro x" chassis?

yup, pro-x is more compact and built to take more abuse
e.g you cant pull the recoil housing on a bigblock twin in the pro-x without lifting the engine from the chassis

Pro x used a different beefier bulkhead with higher shock towers that were made to have a bit longer shocks in a more vertical position in relation to the trailing arms making for a big bump sled. Pro x rear skid was a variation of the edge skid with slightly different leverage ratios....imo the edge skid was a better skid for the average rider. Poo should of made a sled in 05 with the pro x bulkhead and ifs and used the it with an edge rear skid instead of those 50th anniversary models.

The Edge chassis XCR 800 VES tripple is the most common sled ever, that was never produced! We had 3 of them show up at our Radar Run, wondering what class they could run in. Well it's stock, sort of, but it's not really, LOL.
After many years of fun, I am going to be selling mine this year. My son built it, then went another direction, so I bought it & later converted to 136" rails, so now it's a rare Switchback Edge tripple! The longer track, along with some shock & suspension adjustments, really made it an enjoyable sled to trail ride instead of just being a lake sled that you could ride trails with too. This one was built without buying a kit, just modified Edge motor mounts using HTG edge XCR pipes. If I were going to keep it, the next mod would be the front bumper support mod to allow stock pipes to be used. I would also put stock cylinders back on it.

the sb would be the chassis to put a 800 xcr in. just like the assault of today, that chassis is way faster than a 121 edge. track attach angle is why.

we have a edge 600 pro-stock. 136" wahl rear suspension. we beat 800 xcr gen 2 based mod. sleds with this. also beat one of the fastest 700 srx that hadn't been beat in five years. guy shook my hand and said never in this wildest dreams would he thought he would lose to a 600. 99mph @ 4.910 in 500' it's best run. the edge chassis is 10 pounds lighter than a gen 2. bare chassis to bare chassis. it's the suspension that makes it slower up top not the drive line as some think. the chain case and drive shaft is actual better for speed than a gen 2.

Pretty sure alone those wahl rear skids are made of chrome moly steel, their very light, and fast. We ran them in our pro stock wedge. 650's.

explains why my rmk used to dust my xc on mid /top end.

I could remember when i had my 02 600 edge x running those older non-ves 700's with a longer track. They ran a couple sleds behind, wasn't impressed.
