I just picked up a pre-loved XC500 for my son. Clean sled, but it doesn't engage until just over 4500rpm. I've never pulled a clutch before, and see this as an opportunity to learn a little. After reading some I decided on the dark blue spring. I picked up a used one yesterday, and although dark blue, it is the wrong spring. I have a gold spring that came with a 95 XLT I bought a while back it measures 3 3/8". The spring that came in this XC 500 is orange, and measures 4 3/16". I don't believe this to be the Polaris orange spring based on the chart I'm going by. Can I use the gold spring? Should I be looking for something else? Am I asking for trouble not opening up the secondary?

Thanks in advance for the help..

If the sled is a 500 xc sp edge or a 00 500 xcsp, found the poo black spring 120/310 works well. If you like that higher engagement go for a team blue.
