Default 2003 Prox 800 136-2" hop up tips???

Just picked up a 2003 pro x 800 ...fresh rebuild with 70 miles...2400 total on the machine. looking to make improvements off the line to top speed.. really looking to spank my buddies 2004 800 switchback.. was riding a 2000 800 rmk 144 2" with twin slps, egts, air box mod etc and top end I had him... he would jump out 2 lengths off the line but I would slowly run him down.... Now looking to make it look easy.... Love this Prox and excited to send it this winter!! Thanks guys!! Located in Red Deer, Alberta so in the 2500 to 3000 range for elevation...

Forgot to mention... From what I see air box is gutted and vented with 2 slp breath rights in dash... Holtzman ataac system... Chubby single pipe and can... Boyesen dual stage reeds... Not sure what is done to it for clutching but will note spring colors and weights here shortly... Will have updated CDI 4010990 with perc being sent out to Polaris racing dept for timing recurved for this sled.. Getting too old to bull sleds around to turn ...

any idea of gearing? these were geared pretty tall stock iirc.

.. And sounds like its souped up pretty good already - I'd expect the RMK to be a runner on top end with twins + a chassis and rear skid with less rolling resistance at speed.. But could be he was running out of gearing...?

I suspect stock gearing but I am going to pull the chain case cover to check and change the oil and chain case gasket as well... and will be noting the gears as well...

what track on the rmk? switchback? the switchback should hand the rmk it's ass up top. even with the mod's?

pro-x chassis is not a top end sled. it will hit a wall at around 100 mph. or maybe a bit before that. and being shorter won't pull a switchback out of the hole if the sb is set-up right? the pro-x is a bump sled.

both the rmk and switchback have 144s for tracks.. seems around here we all top out at 80 to 85 mph.. and you would think the switchback would walk away from me on my rmk but it doesn't... which is why I think I should have a pretty good chance on the Pro X now against the switchback... We do a lot of trails, fields and there is a river right here for grinning and pinning.. one field has a snow fence ands its pretty damn close to a qtr mile long which is where we like to line up.. Tired of it being a close race and want to just spank the rmk ...lol...
