111 miles of hardcore ditch banging and trail pounding today in Steele County. The wind was unreal. The clubs did the best they could, both sides of the county road trails being groomed.
Few and far between but when you could actually ride the snow that was groomed it was superb. Eventually the open areas were just plain tough.

Spent some time watching an Eagle couple today in the afternoon ❤️

I forgot my connector cord for my heated shield so my cheeks paid the price... haha.
Felt like a 200+ mile day for sure =/

I should have taken pictures of the ground blizzards I was going through after it got dark. Couldn't see much but the next orange triangle.
It was really strange moving with the wind direction and having the snow appear to blow in slow or fast motion based on sled speed.

Took a loop down to Le Center, to Waterville, over to Faribault, up to Lonsdale, and then back home. Hate going through Waterville with the trail running right through town on bare roads but needed gas.

Trails had good snow, even in the fields. Groomers were out this week so blowing snow filled them in. Lots of drifts to jump through the fields. Hit one driveway going a little too fast and got to spread my wings!

Did about a 140 mile loop yesterday. Elko to Faribault - Very good. Faribault to Dennison - 50/50 Poor/Good, quite a bit of plowed fields. Dennison, Randolph, Castle Rock, Lakeville, Elko - Generally good. Groomers had been out but the 30-40 mph winds we had Friday made things a bit choppy. But not complaining when there's enough snow to ride! Will be back out today.

So even if you don’t have a vintage sled it’s a good time with a number of really nice sleds to look at!
And it’s obviously a fund raiser for our club!

Thanks in advance for coming!

I took Friday afternoon to meet up with a buddy of mine down by Theilman (BJ's / Whippoorwill). It was a bit chilly with the cross wind, and some of the trails were wind blown, but all in all it was a great day. We rode from BJ's over towards Plainview, and then down towards Eyota, Chatfield and St. Charles & then stopped for an appetizer and a beer in Utica. From there we buzzed down to Alba and then back towards Plainview and BJ's. I rode back home (Frontenac) from there and ended the day with 165 miles ... not bad for getting started at Noon.

Yesterday we rode up through Frontenac to Bellechester, and then over to Hay Creek. Dressen's was PACKED so we went through there and up towards Red Wing & looped back towards Goodhue. Trails were getting a bit soft by mid afternoon as the sun was WARM, but they were still holding up. One of the guys had to get back so I went with him, and headed back home from Goodhue ... got home while still light out and had about 80'ish miles on.

All in all, a good day and a half of riding LOCAL .... a good feeling! Part of me wishes we would've buzzed across Lake Pepin to ride over in Wisconsin, but I'm OK with riding our club's trails too. Hopefully Mother Nature ain't done yet!

Did an 80 mile loop this morning. Trails are pretty good despite the heavy weekend traffic.

The drifts from friday made things interesting. Should look pretty good if the clubs groom the drifted in snow =]

The bridge isnt much better as far as snow coverage, but it seems a lot less of a pain.
The blue star is Casey's for gas...

I haven't gone the "trail" way more than once this year, the first time was enough of a reminder.

Thanks, I'll give that route a try next time. I did end up crossing the lake to get there. Lots of open water on the lakes. Had to take a big loop around and follow some tracks. Phil Mart didn't have non-oxy that I could find but Casey's did.

Yesterday I went south through Heidelberg, over towards Le Sueur, and then to Cleveland and St Peter. The snow got worse as I went south and west. Got gas in St Peter and then went back home through Le Center. Stopped at Little Dandy in Le Center for a burger. 80 miles total.

I'm done riding locally until we get more snow. Trails were getting bare by Sunday afternoon. Warm today and supposed to be in the 30s this coming weekend.
