Drove by our Sakatah trail too, more snow cover than I figured, I was tempted to ride today, but figured it would be too iced over to ride with no scratchers.
I finally saw the Park & Ride sign... looks like a good spot.

No more riding for my sleds this year, already finishing up post season maintenance.
Gotta get the bikes ready now... going to be a long wait until the salt is all gone from the road/snow banks.

I've done summer storage prep three times in a year before. More than willing to do it again.

Lol. I said post season maintenance, not summer storage prep... Haha.
The problem is the flooding and standing water basically covering our region...

Did someone say 60*F?!

well most of our trails hopefully will be ready if we get this snow?
look for some trail changes between elgin and millville.
also we have some corn in yet so some trails may be closed until its picked or may be closed for year?
Due to muzzle loader season there may also be some closures till mid december?

Our club in Frontenac is dealing with the same issues with some corn still being in the fields. We were hoping to get the last bit marked last week, but couldn't. What happens with this snow in the forecast will be interesting ... hopefully people will stay on the trails.

The farmers have made herculean progress in our area the last couple of weeks. It's amazing how much they got done (when I thought they weren't able to do much more). I drive 30 miles cross-country to work and there's no standing corn left, as of last night.

It's going to be a great year.

A couple of years ago a friend and I parked at Cannon Falls Power Sports and rode south and then east over to Frontenac. Ate lunch at what was the Frontenac ski hill. Must have been 30/40 sleds there during the time we ate. First time I ever rode down there and riding the bluffs and valley's was great. Would love to do it again this winter. What club is in Frontenac?

Great to hear you enjoyed your ride in our neck of the woods The Frontenac club is the Wells Creek Riders ... with other great clubs nearby: Red Wing, Bellechester, Goodhue, Lake City, etc. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate with us for another great year!

Put on 50 miles in Rice County today. Trails have a nice base. Made fresh tracks for 20 miles or so. The chisel plowed cornfields are not bad because of all the hard work the club does with the discs...
Over all a great day. Had to fix a few signs that took early season hits. But again the Sno-Go club does a great job, especially this year with signage! The Sakatah trail was smooth but a little thin in snow pack.

If you get out, expand and pack the trail!!
Ride Safe!
