**VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE ENDURO RACE TO BENEFIT THREE LAKES TRAILS**

Vintage snowmobile racers of all ages will try to outlast their competition over 30 miles of racing on the ice of Spirit Lake, just east of Three Lakes, on Saturday, Feb. 7, for the first annual Spirit Lake Vintage Endurance Race.

All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Three Lakes Trails Association.

The endurance race, expected to draw over 100 racers taking part in more than 15 classes of both individual and team events, is being co-sponsored by the Northern Vintage Snowmobile Race Series, Bonnie’s Lakeside Restaurant, and the Three Lakes Trails Association.

Registration for all racers will run from 7 to 9 a.m. on Feb. 7 at Bonnie’s Lakeside, 1426 Hwy. 32, in Three Lakes. Racing will begin about 10:30 a.m. on a three to three and one-half mile course set up on Spirit Lake. Individual races are scheduled for the morning with three-person teams taking to the ice in the afternoon. Burger, brats, soda, beer, and other refreshments will be available at the race. Admission for spectators is free.

Race classes for vintage snowmobiles include all types of stock, modified, and open cc groups for machines older than 1985 with leaf spring front suspensions. There are also classes for kids, women, and senior racers. For more information about classes and race rules, go to the Northern Vintage Snowmobile Race Series website at www.nvsrs.org .

An awards ceremony will be held at Bonnie’s at the conclusion of the race day. Team and modified classes will receive cash paybacks, with trophies awarded to the top five finishers in all other classes. Competitors in all children’s classes will receive a trophy.

Proceeds from this first endurance race will be donated to the Three Lakes Trails Association, which is responsible for grooming and maintaining over 140 miles of snowmobile trails in the area.

For more information about the Spirit Lake Vintage Endurance Race, contact Joe Jorgensen at 715-369-5182 or Ed Lamb at 715-891-1352.

Now that we know Swenny is doing the cooking, I will make sure there are several bottles of Rolaids available (lakeside) for all the victims. He likes to use Amsoil as a condiment. Sounds like weather is supposed to be mild (around 32 degrees) with maybe a snow event Friday into Saturday. Gonna be a blast!
