Seriously, why is this even a topic anymore. Common sense, sled control is priority one. Signal if you can, don't if you can't...treat every hill and curve like someone will be coming at you on your side of the trail.
It was the hook and it seemed to work.

Nobody tells me whether or not I use hand signals. My group knows when/how to hand signal and we will always do so. This sounds like a joke?
What's not a joke is all the idiots and non-idiots making idiot mistakes. When I leave the sport it will either be because of injury or no longer willing to take the risk of being hit by someone else. Definitely a dangerous sport.

Yep I got hit head on last year by someone who couldn't stay on their side. I ejected at about 40mph and got very lucky. It was my last ride of the year and haven't trail rode since. There are so many goons out there that can kill you in an instant and you can't do anything about it. Takes some of the fun away for sure after going through that. I was already getting into off trail riding more and think I'll keep going down that path. When I trail ride I think I'll change when and where and how I ride when possible, we could tell that day it was a warmer sunny March day, earlier I was telling my brother how many idiots were out riding that day. Lots.
