Default Central Wisconsin trails?

I normally travel further north towards U.P. But my buddies and I are trying to squeeze in one more trip March 12-15. How is the riding by Stevens Point or Wausau area? Never ridden there, but would like to try it if conditions are still good. Would save a few hours in the truck. Good places to stay with trail access? Thanks!!

At I39 and Hwy 54 in Plover there is a Best Western and a Kwik Trip. Trail goes right through there. It's about 75% farm fields to 25 woods. Trails were flat and fast for the most part last night.

Buddy has been running out of his parents home to the west of Wausau and has been very good. He is there again this weekend and can post after I talk with him if you like.

Drove from the cities to Stevens Point last week (by car) and EVERYTHING was groomed along 29, down I39, and the Polonia club guys I know were running their groomer. If you go north and east from said I39/54 Best Western, or the Elizabeth Inn (Which has a bar inside), there is a little more wooded trails, but plenty of fields to stretch your throttle thumb.

Thanks fellow HardCore Sledders. This is just what I was looking for. Expecting more snow up there by chance?

Canceling our trip. Forecast has temps in the 40's with rain Wednesday and Thursday. Hoping for cold and snow next week... Even checked farther north and Michigan but looks like rain everywhere.

You missed it by a week! Week before would have been ideal. Need to head further north.
On Saturday, we rode out of Iola and went up towards Wausau. Mix of Waupaca, Marathon, and Portage counties. 180 miles. Lot of families were out, so great to see!
A lot of trails were flat and well snow covered. Not a hint of dirt. That will change with sun and temps in 40's the next couple days though.

How are you liking the new Indy? Dad bought a "backed out" 850 snowcheck 4 weeks ago. Got 1K miles in last 5 weeks! Been problem free and a blast to ride.

It's just been hard to get the gang to get off work and schedule trips. Plus kids activities we need to be at too. The Indy 850 has been great! Only have been out on three trips but love it.
