Very helpful, thanks.
I do see on the MSA site that virtually nothing is updated in regards to anything being closed, groomed, snowfall totals, etc. Surprising seeing that the season officially opened a few days ago & considering all the snowfall. I'm not bitchin' just wondering? Maybe they are all out getting after it?
The MSA page rarely is updated. Facebook is the best source for information regarding current trail conditions. Most clubs have Facebook pages and provide pictures and videos of what the trails look like. Takes all the guess work out of it.
We stopped yesterday evening at the southbound rest area at mile marker 202, a truck with a sled trailer was there also. They said that they was up there at Strongs/Seney area riding. Said spotty in certain areas, along with wet snow and stuff down. But, was good to get up there and ride some.
I almost headed up to Munising today. Called the Buckhorn and they said nothing is groomed yet as they're riding sleds out with chainsaws to cut the trees that have fallen. I don't want to be on an ungroomed trail not knowig what's underneath the snow. I'm probably heading up next Wednesday.
Yeah, I've done that a few times, no fun. I'm thinking it was March of 2012 that the lower got hammered with wet heavy snow. We were at Houghton Lake & it plain sucked!!
Early March 2012 I drove up to Grayling in horrible conditions from Indiana. Rode all Sat. and when I got to the Sup 8 where I had stayed the night before they had no power and threw us all out. Some here may have been tossed out with me. Ride Safe.
Central UP. Hopefully we bring back all the equipment on Sunday
Personally this will be the earliest for me to ride. If it wasn't for my sons and nephew being so gung ho I would wait a touch longer to let things freeze up.
apparently nobody did we were there all week and it was awesome passed three sleds the whole time it was like they locked the place up and we were the only ones there lmao I’ve been riding in Cadillac area since the 14th of November trails are sweet everyone just go to the yoop we will keep an eye on caddy for you all
Anyone riding in Brimley area? Looks like trails are open and sleds were at casino this weekend.. they are supposed to get 4-8 " this week.. anyone know first hand?? Also is that bay out in front of casino froze?? May head that way this weekend
They have been riding around for over a week. When I lived in that area we were always riding around that area this time of year. You need to stick to high ground as the swaps are still open. Back bay is probably not close to frozen.
