Nope, never marked. I just keep toward the west side shore where other have ridden when running between the lodge and Bergland, however watch for ice heaves and large snowdrifts.

And dont forget about the pier at the south end...its claimed a few lives too.
Thats the kind of lake I dont like to be in snowdust if you are running at any great speed.
On the up side,if its in good shape you can rip for 15 mi.at wot.
Most importantly, dont go off the path and overshoot Bergland or you ll be in water for sure.

Yea and watch for ice heaves, about 18 years ago I met one at nearly triple digits, lets say I was very lucky to walk away, and the sled was not!!

It's a very dangerous lake, as stated "Stay on The Path" you get off the path you can get stuck in slush or go through the ice. Stay away from the dam, do not even go near it or you will end up in the bottom of the lake, they do every year! If you are not sure where to ride the lake, stop and ask!!!!!!!

Like everyone else said keep on the beaten paths on the west end and get off in Bergland. I ran into some bad slush years back leaving the Root Cellar running the eastside that still gives me nightmares. My 700 felt like a 340 going through the stuff

They don't mark it because it is not technically a trail. Wisconsin marks lakes, not Michigan. Gogebic is a very big lake. Like everyone said stay along the west shore and follow the main tracks across. I don't even attempt it in a snowstorm or high winds blowing snow. If coming from the root cellar go straight across to the west shore then north or south.
