Default From Accuweather - were screwed

That cold snap in parts of the Central and Eastern states is only likely to last a few days.

"We expect above-average temperatures that linger from late December through much of the first week of January to return during the second half of January," Pastelok said.

Yep, the NAO cycle is strongly positive. Not good for the east coast weather during that. It'll change though. Maybe in May lol

I've been following this guy since last year, he puts out good detailed stuff and actually explains whats going on and compares it between different weather models: https://www.upstatesnow.com/the-morning-blog-12-30-19/

According to his latest post we have the possibility of lake effect 2nd week into January, after the 4th things are supposed to return to normal. I'm not saying we should only listen to the guy with good news, but its nice to have hope.

Well I tried to be optimistic but its true, we're fucked:

While Canuckistan & the Midwest get to enjoy winter most of the east coast is gonna be getting torched

Well. It is only 1300 miles out here from southern New York. Nineteen or twenty hours if you have someone to team drive with. Closer to go to Canada. Going to be below zero here next week.

I grew up about 18 miles from Carmel. Parents had good friends there. Used to spend weekends there. Nice area.

I think we are going to ride through the plains over to old forge Thursday after work, it’ll be a late night but worth it. This winter if you want to ride close to home you have to go no matter what day of the week it is. Roller coaster weather I think we are stuck in this pattern unfortunately. Looks like we will be spending the next couple of weekends back in Quebec.
