I last rode in 1999. Last season I got the bug again. Picked up a couple used sleds for my son and I. We're pretty anxious to hit the trails as well.

When youíre a snowmobiler it doesnít matter how long you are away from riding. Let it be one season or twenty years the passion is still the same! Welcome back. Bring on the snow!

Was up on the Tug Hill today, not on sleds. Redfield has "about" 6 inches. Heading north up towards Lorraine, Worth/Worth Center, Barnes Corners and over towards Lowville have about a foot.

We're heading up in the morning to ride.

That sucks. Especially since they're calling for it to start warming up tomorrow into the weekend.

Do you guys get good ridable snow down in the Cat Skills?

I guess there was decent rideable snow in old forge on New Year’s Day but rain is forecasted for Friday and Saturday. I’m leaving work early on Friday and making the pull to Mont-Laurier Quebec for the weekend.

Seems the last few years "good snow" comes in when I am at work and several days later when I can ride it is all but gone by then. We get a week of coldish weather and then 40's-50's and rain all to often. The best snow which was rideable this year was before the trails were even open. Trails open snow goes away.Short, short season and definitely have to take time off work and go ride on it while we have it because it usually is gone quick. Seasons is a changing.

My son and I went up for a ride this afternoon. Unloaded at the end of Little John Dr. just off Co. Rt. 17 north of Redfield. Trails were a little rough until we got to Osceola. They were nice and smooth there. Don't know how long it's gonna last. Gonna be warm the next few days.

ETA; my first real snowmobile ride in 20 years....my son's (18yo) first real snowmobile ride ever!
