Default NEED HELP on EAGLE LAKE AREA

I have been looking for something in northern Maine.I have found a couple houses in Eagle Lake. Can anyone help me out with that area? Is it a good area for being able to ride from and good snow area ? Both places are right in town and says you can hit trails from the one.Not a big town?Should I keep looking ? Any help would be appreciated . THANKS

You will be very happy with eagle lake. They are in the area with that most snow in the state of Maine. Its 85 runs right through the town and on this main trail you can go anywhere. Cross the lake and you will be on 73 or 96 which are awesome trails. Take its 120 out to the allagash and be out in the middle of no where on a pen amazing trail. Have your passport take a run up to escort station which was opened this year. Eagle lake does a great job with grooming as do the surrounding clubs. Basically from eagle lake you can ride to anywhere in the county you want to.

Yes great place,we used to stay at the Old Mill Mariner, before it burnt, but there trails are always great, and like said you can go south on 85,or north on 85 or cross the plowed road on Eagle lake to many trails. Just be aware of there Black Fly Festival,it truly means what it said,Black Flys lol yes good choice, long ride but some of the best trails our state has to offer.

Eagle Lake is a good location, 26 miles to Fort Kent, 40 to Portage, 44 to Allagash. Keep an eye on the Facebook posts, but they are still grooming and the trails have the most snow anywhere, as mentioned above. Borders sound like they are going to be closed, so that might not be an option.

The only problem with Eagle Lake is if the lake is not rideable. I was there a few years ago when it was glare ice and it sucked. Had to ride 85 north and south every day. Even when we decided to melt our hyfax the club trail on the other side was a 14 mile nightmare that I don't think gets groomed that often. But when the lake is good to ride it's a great place to home base.

No problems riding the lake this year lots of snow. I bought a house in Eagle Lake this fall and love the area. Used to ride out of Jackman. I still have a solid 3' of snow in my yard. The club does a fantastic job grooming. Some of the best grooming in the state in my opinion.

Yes, it's a rare year you can't ride the lake! I was on Eagle Lake last week, it was fine.
