We stayed at bernards in shawnigan one year while doing a bag trip north. Vaguely remember him as a very nice elderly motel owner that liked sledders, and would probably give the shirt off his back if help was needed. He sure enjoyed his cigarettes to.

Yes, he had a heart attack. He put Shawinigan on the map for us snowmobilers from the USA. Honest, no BS and worked his butt off. A free Heck beer and sometimes played his ring a dang do song on the guitar. Great man for the snowmobile world. I must give a shout out to Reggie for turning the Drakkar into a great spot also. ( formerly Motel Safari )

based out of Drakkar for the first time this year
Havenít been there in many years since Bernard was there. I remember the ringy dang doo as well.
What a great song that was !!!
There was an ASS TON of snow in Shawinigan this winter. Never seen anything like it in all the years going up there. It was hard driving around town as all the intersections were piled high and you couldnít see until you pulled out.
