The trail you are hearing horror stories about is trail 310 (club Chaleur’s trail) off of trail 19. It used to be one continuous trail (trail 305) but they lost a landowners permission so there is not a continuous trail there anymore. It is two separate trails that don’t meet. And I believe trail 310 is a shared trail with atv’s. You could probably find your way through but I would not recommend it. Take trail 24 off of trail 19 to the clubhouse. From the club house you can take trail 24 until you get to trail 305. Head west on that trail until you get the the junction of trail 285, at which point you also head west, then you can go right to Charlo from there and continue on trail 285 until you get to trail 22 which will take you onto Campellton or Balmoral depending on which way you go. It should be all signed. I hope this helps.

I’d say from the SuperVillage Clubhouse to Charlo is approximately 20-25 miles.

Jan 22 — Last night they passed on Trail 24 without the drag which turned out to be a good idea given the amount of snow. Today they groomed it, and also plowed the roadways from Noel Road to Belledune. There is an amazing amount of snow down.

Jan 24 — On Tuesday they also groomed trail 295.
And today they groomed Trail 305 from Jacquet River to the junction of Trail 285 in Benjamin, and Trail 285 from there to the fish hatchery in Charlo. They also groomed Trails 296 and 297.

Feb 4 — Today the guys groomed Trail 305 from Pointe Verte to the junction of Trail 285 in Benjamin, and Trail 285 from there to the fish hatchery in Charlo. They also groomed Trails 296 and 297. On Sunday morning there was a leather glove found on the trail at the intersection of Trail 305 and Trail 297. It is now at the lodge, if it is yours.
