With the engine running , grab the wire harness where it enters the sensor on the pipe and wiggle it around and see if you can get the light to cut out
You will not burn it down running a bad temp sensor on a 2006
After the light came on it has less hesitation when it is cold, but it is still there. I will check the wiring. I ordered a new GM sensor that guys on snow west say works. All you have to do is change the connector. $30 for the GM sensor $135 for the Cat one.
