Default Evo trail mileage/range..?

What do you think expected range/fuel mileage might be on the EVO series.?(RMK or Indy)..
Looks like tank is smaller and not sure how efficient engine is...
Would about 15 mpg be about reasonable to expect on normal trail usage (Imperial)?
Polaris says 10 gallon for tank but is actually ?? gal?
5 with 2 gall reserve?

Last year people were debating fuel tank size and I wanted to get to the bottom of it so I completely drained the tank on my daughters evo and refilled it. At 8.5 gallons it appeared to be full but if you go slow it'll take another gallon. Its unrestricted gets between 10mpg and 14mpg depending on conditions.

That 550 is a Fuji piston port engine with round-slide Mikunis, correct? If so, I'd expect to see mileage in the 12-13 mpg range, which is pretty much what I've seen for other Fuji-engined Polari.

So 100 mile easy trail miles should be doable?
jerry can sounds like a good plan....

I always try to carry a little can of gas with us. Nothing worse than finding that hidden open, untouched meadow on the way back to the truck and not being able to play in it because you are scared of running out of fuel... I am thinking a small jerry can on the Evo will work too, and leave more room on my sled for extra stuff.

first ride done
76 miles took 22.6 liters=15 mpg imperial...guage read between quarter and reserve..
read just under half at 45 miles...looks like best case is 80 miles on a tank before reserve
will need spare fuel..
not sure if milage will improve after broken in was 0 miles on sled before trip
anyway son have a blast!!
Littlehoe, p51mstg and Cheallaigh like this.

Good to know... We put gas in half way on our last ride with concerns it wouldn't make it because of how fast it dropped in the first 30 miles... But when you look at the tank the bottom half should be much bigger than the top half, as wrong as that sounds with the manual fuel gauge thats just how it will work. I think I will test it out this weekend, I know we should be about 80 miles round trip.

We did 60 miles on the short loop last weekend and my 800 only used 20% according to the electric gauge on it... just sips the fuel running trails at 25-30 mph lol..

2 more rides done
first was only 36 miles guage read 3/4 after- about 12 l fuel = 13.5 mg imperiel aprox
so hard to fill this tank to top and compare tho.
2 nd ride about 64 miles ..topped up tank half way tank read a little above half and put in 8 liters (pump only read in liters so aprox.) after other half of ride read between 1/4 and half on guage..didn't refill yet so don't know liters
warmer temps and beat up trail used more fuel also think fouled plugs as had mid range stutter happening so changed plugs don't know yet if that fixed or cause is warmer temps or poor fuel...will have to get it out again..
yay 175 miles on the EVO ...uncounted smiles for the young one!!!
He is begging for snow and spare fuel can mount..
60-80 miles for tank doesn't seem real great...

Anyone know if there is some kind of mod to make fueling easyer have to go so slow to fill all the way and looks like it needs all that can fit..some of the trails we plan to ride have no fuel for 100 miles...
