Default Indy EVOlution Kit

I was looking at the EVO kit and it looks like for full engine performance it includes new clutch springs, gears, & throttle lever. But it doesn't show any electronics. I thought the speed was " electronically " limited. Anybody know how the speed is electronically limited? Is it just the CDI box? Does full engine performance require a new CDI box? Or do the 550s have an ECU that could simply be re-flashed?

Could it simply be the different plastic flipper pulling the throttle cable that much further?

A carbed sled that doesn't allow full slide opening is not a good idea if for any reason it is flooded and won't start. There are times like that that full carb opening may be needed.

We used hose clamps on the handle bar with the raised screw part under the throttle lever to act as a throttle stop ie: governer. Indy Lites/ Poo/Doo/AC 340's.440's, etc,etc.etc......

No more than a $1.00or so now a days.

Magazines are reporting electronically limited to 50MPH, in the kit from Polaris, they say, throttle limited to 5/8 from factory, and with kit, Full Speed. Time will tell the truth if they need a flash or ?

Why in the hell would they bring it to you for another PDI?? After they just bought it from the dealer?? Have another drink!!!

You are so presumptuous in your posts that every polaris dealer in the country is incompetent.

Getting sick of the look at me, look at me posts on here from you. I have the best stuff no one else knows what they are doing. Im sure you know your stuff but enough shit talking.

Be nice if you went back to just offering advice and tips instead of slamming Polaris all the time. Ive said it before if you know so much and are the best at everything buck up and go work for them and put it all on the table, if not shut up with all your slamming posts about dealers and polaris.

most dealers suck. i didn't say all of them. why in the hell would one of the most respected members on here bring his brand new sled to me when it was under warranty? give him a p.m. and ask why. lennstang is his user name.

Polaris needs to be slammed for some of the cheap stupid shit they do.

a lot of guys are really getting sick of the short cuts they take. 900 fusion,800 c.f.i., bad relays, motor mounts, idler wheel bearings, etc. don't see this with ski-doo.

if you don't like don't read it. period. i tell it like it is. the truth hurts. i get call's everyday with guys that can't get there dealer to do anything for them. just do a search. a # on here had low chain case oil, hood plugs not plugged in, tracks, chains, etc. not adjusted, etc. something the customer gets charged for. and you think that's o.k. apparently?

when you spend the stupid money these things cost you would think that someone either making them or selling them would give a shit? i'am just telling it like it is. not every dealer is bad. i've said that over and over but a good dealer is few and far between. and yes a lot of guys bring me brand new sleds to check over. at least 20 a year. why would that be?

i don't have a college degree. that's all they hire. and there's the issue in a nut shell. probably tell you the structural tensile strength of 6061 alum. but never even seen a snowmobile? and there building them? nope i'am all set thank you.

oh and by the way the customer exact words were i don't trust my dealer at all? and guess what? there was no P.D.I. done. so it wasn't another P.D.I. it was the first one.

i pay to sell here. unlike some selling stuff here.why shouldn't i promote my stuff? and tell the truth doing it. like the iron-dog teams that run our clutching.

Now that this thread is totally derailed Id have to agree with rick on some of these points...especially when it comes to dealers. Most of the little dealers that hired real mechanics or cared about their workmanship over just hiring cheap "techs" are long gone.
There are guys with degrees working parts departments at some of these big dealers that never even rode a snowmobile.
There are still some good dealers out there but you really need to search for them.

I drove by Northstar Performance on Sat to play pool and have a beer with my wife. His lot is full of ATV's and Snow machines already.

I have never been in.Will someday...but I can report if he is busy or not and he is.
