Default Opportunity to buy brand new 2019 XC850. Advise...

A local dealer has a brand new, zero miles, 2019 XC 850 with Storm track and E.S. for $11,400. Doesnít come with the 4 year warranty, just one year. No added fees, tax & license only.

I was looking for a new XC600 but ran across this sled and itís not much more than they are asking for the XC600ís.

I currently have an XC850 and itís been great this past season.

Thoughts????

Why doesn't it come with the 4-year warranty? Was it snow checked by someone else, and backed out of?

To me, that's the only thing that would concern me as you know there were SOME sleds affected last year with various (significant) problems. The price is good, but to be perfectly honest, it's only several hundred less than what I paid in comparison to my snow check price for my 2019 XC850 ... and that INCLUDED the 4-year warranty.

I think I’ll pressure them about the 4 year warranty. If these sleds were special order snow check sleds and included the 4 year warranty, it should be transferable don’t you think?

It's transferable if you're buying from an actual snowcheck customer. However, my understanding is that if a sled is snowchecked but the buyer backs out - the promotional warranty no longer exists. That's why I'm wondering if this was a canceled snowcheck, or if the dealer did something "unique" on this one to not include the 4-year warranty.

I would be asking for more details on that too

I've bought two different Polaris snowchecked sleds.
A 2015 Pro-S 800 SB and a 2019 850 Indy. I sold the 800 before it was delivered because it was my second sled and the 4 year warranty was kept in my name for about 6 months, then transferred to the new buyer. The Indy 850 I bought was a snowcheck by another buyer. My dealer did the same thing for me. Both sleds were registered shortly after being delivered to dealer.

There may be problems with the 4 year warranty if not registered for almost a full year before being sold.

If they cannot transfer four year warrant then have them put the Polaris extended warranty on it for that price.
They get cut rate on warranties!

I called and asked about the warranty. They said it was a Polaris VIP sled that never got used and that the VIP sleds weren’t covered by the 4 year warranty. They said it’s new, zero miles, and a 1 year warranty. Are there build dates or serial number ranges I should be leery of?

I’m going to check the sled out next week.

I'd ask them about the Polaris extended warranty that @x2700 referenced, and asking for fair price.
