Some are getting big miles. A few are blowing belts. I guess I'd make sure it's properly broken in. Especially with 200h/p on tap

Half throttle operation for at least 20 miles, probably more like 1/3 throttle when you have 200+ HP.
It lets the cords in the belt stretch and the rubber loosen up.
If you don't any number of things can let go within the belt.

To properly break in a belt, your friend needs to ease off the throttle for about 100 miles. Keep it slow for at least 25 miles. Short bursts of throttle may be used, 10 - 15 seconds at high speed. Properly broken in, it may go at least 1000-1500 miles.

Changes are your friend is going to set a record for most belts blown. Just gets messy and expensive.

From the early 1100 Turbo days, we call that hole in the belly pan a "belt ejection hole"
