I am looking at buying a M5. I would like to know what you think of this sled. Power, speed, all around handeling....

Good chassis but not a strong enough motor IMO. Would be fine if it was the 500 with P-valves but without it just isn't enough to turn the long track, especially at altitude.

Check out Snowest, not many mountain riders here.

I'd look for atleast a 6........ you can get them really cheap... saw a M6 with average miles go for 4600 on ebay last week

I own one. This will be my first season on it. I may replace the engine with something larger before the snow flies. It may have enough power the way it is.

What's the hp. differance between the non-valved and valed motors ????
The 99 ZR 500 seemed to have great power, almost as much as the 600 back then...

Thanks for the reply's guy's....... :beerchug:

Cat lists it at 80 hp.

They are great if you want to throw big bore in because it's got the 500 lower end. You'll also need to get a new suspension, no Fox on the M5.

How does $4995 sound for a new left over 05 M5??

Hmmm well they have a 05 M6 too asking 6400........... What would you guys pay for the M5 or M6??? I was thinkin 4500 for the 5 and 5800 for the 6.

You should be able to buy a M6 for around 6000 if its a 141 and a lil more if its 153. If you find a great deal maybe 5800 and 6000 accordingly.
BoeMan
the m5 and the m6 are two very different animals. The m6 is worth about 30% more and has about 50-60% more performace. it also has a suspension that is twice as good.

i paid 3500 for my 05 m5 with 250 miles on it, but I got a good deal. I think 4500 or so is the average price they go for. the m6 will run about 1000-1500 more.
