Is there any reason i couldnt swap a newer style sedcondary with the adjustable spring tension (clutch is from a 97 xcr) for the non-adjustable clutch on my 87 indy 600?
Can you swap the spring and helix between these two clutches, or are they completly different?

it will go right on. you will need a few more .030 shims behind some newer helixs, because they are cut for a wider belt than the old Indy6 used stock

stock secondary setup was 34 degree helix and a red spring. gearing was 19-35
