Fast Marinara Sauce

For 4 servings you will need:
1/3 c. olive or vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled & sliced
3 tbsp. finely chopped parsley or dried parsley
3 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes or whole tomatoes
1 bay leaf
Dash salt
Dash black pepper
2-3 fresh basil leaves, chopped fine or dried basil

1. Add Oil to a medium fry pan. Place sliced garlic, chopped parsley and the onion in.
2. Cook till onion gets soft.
3. Add tomatoes and slightly break up tomatoes.
4. Cook over medium heat until it bubbles a little.
5. Add bay leaf, salt and pepper. Let stand for 5-6 minutes, stirring once.
6. Add fresh or dried basil leaves
7. Taste and adjust. Maybe if tomatoes are a little acidy add a little sugar.

Serve sauce hot or cold with any type of pasta or with rice. Also good served with meat loaf, meatballs or pork chops.

You can also add while the sauce is simmering - shrimp, scallops or chicken tenders and cover till done in a few minutes.

2 tsp sugar.........takes the acidity out of it. and dont brown the garlic, it will get bitter! :div20:
