theres a really cool button on ebay, it's called (ask seller a question) -NEVER buy anything that doesn't clearly say what shipping/handling fee's will be to your area.If unsure -ASK!
I say your SOL, take the negative feedback and add a response as to why you didn't follow thru on the purchase, and shop wiser next time
I see so many people get caught in the moment and pay WAY too much $$ on ebay

EBay takes a percentage of the selling price, but nothing from the shipping price. The ideal scenario for the seller is to build as much of the product price into the shipping. As buyers we need to recognize that and bid accordingly, because it is not a scam. It's just a way to keep EBay's paws out of the transaction.
What did you bid?
Try to negotiate the shipping cost down so that your total cost is what you would have paid anywhere else. If that fails bail and take the hit on your feedback.

I saw that auction...I was looking at those for my son's yz85....thought it was a typo or something..he was offering alot of other stuff also. I would take the hit too...that's crazy...I would report him to Ebay also...shouldn't that be considered fraud? I believe in asking ??? also but I'm very trusting and would have thought the seller had made an honest mistake..what a jerk.

If he is a big seller on EBAY thy won't do crap, the only one you can depend on is PAYPAL.

Same with peddlers on here, they should be banned! Same with on Snowest, Amsnow, SF, and wherever.

be sure if you deal with paypal you only ship to a confirmed paypal address or you can get burned. i sold something on ebay and 2 months later the buyer pulled the funds and i got screwed out of my item and $379.85. i call paypal and all they tell me is i was dumb for shipping to an unconfirmed address and sorry about my luck, when i contacted the person all they did was send me a email back that says "LOL, I GOT YOU" and there is nothing that can be done. So now whatever i sell on ebay i only ship to confirmed addresses because the funds are then insured, the buyer can reverse the funds up to 90 day after the transaction.

the other reason they do that is because paypals and ebays clause covers the product price only NOT SHIPPING, so should you report them and get a refund its not the whole amount and they made their money anyway

there is no policy for over charging of shipping on ebay if the seller puts it in the auction. In your case for the reed if you paid a penny for the reeds and were charged 199.00 for shipping it seems fair. Like some one said its just away for the seller not to have to pay an outragous selling fee to ebay. Its just like all these cars and motorcycles you see for sale they all have this 100-300dollar documentation fee. Before you bid ask the seller for shipping charges if they are not listed and seller wont respond to your request then dont bid. Ebay is the one that has caused this with their greed. If you sell something and accept paypal thats a nice chunk of change that your dishing out. I found that out the hard way.I sold a 20 hp outboard on ebay for 350.00 after listing fees and selling percentage I ended up with 280.00. Now if I had listed it for a dollar and put a 349.00 documentation fee buyer would have paid out the same. Sounds like you got the item cheap and expected cheap shipping

You will not get negative if you report him to e-bay as it is against policy to hide purchase price in shipping....
