later in the season last winter i snapped the shaft with the plastic gears that turns the track and i need a new one. i dont know the specific name for this shaft and is making it difficult to find a new one. I did this on my '99 ZL 440 just to let you know and i was wondering if somone could possibly get me a part # and price

Go to a web site like Browns Leisure World. You can look up the part numbers and names yourself. Just go to the snowmobile parts section and start with your year then the model, and you will get a menu of all the sub-assemblies. From there you can view each assembly drawing with the part numbers and names.
