I thought this might get burried in the other thread so I wanted to start a new one. I found a reverse kit part number 2872639 which is for a 2001 xc sp edge model only. The mechanic said the chain cases are the same part numbers so he is not sure why it would not fit a 2002 edge model? Can anyone think of a reason it would not fit??

if it's off an edge it should bolt on.
but the bottom gear might not have the right amount of tooth....

It should fit, I would go to the Polaris siteand look at the parts diagram. My base kit was pn 2873878 for $283 CDN. My kit came with extra levers for different vent shrouds used on later years. I also got sprokit kit pn 1341227 for 49.99 cdn. I also picked up an updated bracket to strengthen case pn 1341440 re service bulletin S-02-02. This update did not apply to 2001? Good luck.

journalism hopefuly she can pay for it all on her own ,she has a few scolerships. She can also spell & type very fast.

Hope the reverse works out for ya ,one thang to keep in mind is the snow flap got ate up on mine,60$ to replace.backing off the trailer is the worst spot because of the angle, one time it lucked up the track it was hooked on the studs.I thank it got sucked in at high speeds too.I plan to put a peace of aluimiunum uder the flap to hold it out.
