I will be adding 120 or so picks to my RS Venture track along with the Yamaha tunnel protectors. I realize that I will have to pull the skid to do this.
Does anyone who may have already done this have any tips that I should know?
Should there be anything else that I should do while the skid is out?
Thanks in advance.

i dont think you need to pull the skid. to install the tunnel protectors you need to remove the seat and gas tank. they rivet from the top on most yamahas.

Are you sure?
I was told by my dealer that due to the one-peice design of the tunnel protectors (Protects front heat exchanger also) the skid would have to be pulled.
I also understand that sometimes the dealer will just tell you what the manual says to cover themselves.

Finished adding tunnel protectors and pick to my RS Venture this week.
Instructions provided are good.
Rear seat, exhust covers, seat pan, muffler, skid and some other small items must come off. It is not too bad of a job with two guys. (THANKS JEHU!!)
While skid was out I added a large wheel kit, replaced the smoked hyfax and greased the hell out of everything.
Installed a 96 pattern of Woody's 1.375" stainless picks, round aluminum backers and tall nuts. Air compressor and air socket is the only way to go here. (THANKS JEHU!!)
Took about 120 picks to do the job.
