get them if your an intense rider. They make it alot easier to push the sled around. You will love them.

what i went with is a 6" block riser from powermadd, pivot adapter also made by powermadd-used to move the bars to a 90 degree angle from the ground. plus a set of pro taper bars. i would suggest NOT getting a pivot adapter riser because they tend to move while riding. i got block riser, pivot adapter, and handlebars for around $160

Best bar riser out there is from Ready-to-Ride...it comes in 4,6,8" and allows the bars to rise and fall in the block for fast adjustments..it also will pivot the bars forward and back for you. UP for the powder..down for the trail...takes 10 seconds if you are slow.

I got a FLY 5 inch riser and sno x bars on my mxz 600. Put them on after this last season and am excited to use them. I do a lot of agressive riding and hopefully they will do me well.

a bar riser also makes the sled easier to turn, i only have a 2 inch block riser and notice a differnce. it feels like you could whip the sled around
hey jafraune thats a nice bar setup

how was it mounting the throttle and brake back on the new bars? did you remove the throttle and brake from their plasic moldings?

What is coming loose the pivot from the sterring stem or the bars?
I've got a Powermadd 6" riser and pivot on mine with 2002 440X Bars on mine and I havn't had a problem.

It was actually very simple to do because i bought all the parts for it (throttle block, with the thumb throttle, light switch and some wiring harness') from a guy that was parting out his mxzx 440. It costs me like 15 bucks on ebay to buy all that stuff which was a sweet deal. Anyway all i had to do was take off the throttle cable from the stock throttle block and re-connect the cable to the new throttle block i bought. The only hard part was threading the new throttle block onto the bars because of the bends that the were in the end of the bars. As for the brake there was no plastic molding...but there was for the lights (You can see my new light switch on the left side of the bars). so i left the brake completely stock...it just basically unscrewed into two different parts so i didnt have to do really anything with it. So mounting all of this back onto the bars wasnt so bad it was most of the rewiring i had to do was the more time consuming part, i had to rewire the kill switch (came with throttle block i bought) thumbwarmers, handwarmers, and lights. And finally i added a bar FLY bar pad (not pictured). It really isnt that hard to do it, just took me awhile to do because i had never done it before.

You can also see in this picture (which was similar to my sled stock) the brake has no plastic molding it is seperate. I just replace the light part of it.

I have a 2000 mxz 500 with a rox 5 inch riser and fly racing areotapered bars for a total of 8.25 inch rise. It is an awesome setup, I'm using the mxzx 440 controls and powermadd handguards. It cost me roughly $170

Would the firecat hand warmers plug into the 03 mxz 500? I was thinking about putting my stock bars on his sled.

Find the Best bar riser at www.readytorideltd.com......comes in 4,6,8" and pivots forward and back...up and down...4" block doesnt require any cable mods..maybe on the 6"...had to add new throttle cable (dont use extensions) and a longer brake line for my mxz renegade....they have mounting for all sleds. bars come down for trails and cruising and rise 8" for standing in bumps or playing in powder... only takes 10 seconds for rise or fall......all 6061 aluminum and steel..light weight ...nicely machined..looks god...works better!
