Hey fellas,
I've got a new 121 x 1 1/4 lug Ripsaw to install in my 02 800 xc w/ M-10. I was wondering if I will have to notch the track for the heat exchangers. I was told I didn't have to, but there isn't much room under there when fully compressed. dunno.gif I am not going to stud it. Just wan't to get an honest opinion before I tear it apart. :banghead:

just install it. pleanty of room. my viper has a bit less room than a polaris and it just rubbed a little, never noticed until i looked at the tunnel protectors and saw a little black on them.

Run it. Agree no problem. Absolute worst case is you have to notch it while installed - no harder than if it were on the floor.

any track taller then a 1.25 should be notched..... 1.25 is fine I have one on my 2001 xc 800! Huge differance in deep snow , hard pack is better depending on if its really hard. I studded mine with 96 just to keep the icy hill from kicking my arse.

O.K. guys, I have a neighbor with an 02 xc 800 with the M10 . He was hoping to put the 1.375" track on. Is this going to be a problem?? Or is it ok as long as the lugs don't cross the drive cog area? What is the longest stud he can run?? Thanks for your help in advance. :beerchug:

I think 1 5/8 is the deepest lug you can stud with a edge/prox tunnel without mods to the mounting points. I have a few light scrapes on my tunnel, its a 1.25 ripsaw with woodys 1325 studs. I think its from running the track loose and high speed jumps.
