[I][FONT=Impact][COLOR=green] I own a 2005 F6 EFI. I am going to university this year and won't have much extra money. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get some extra HP out of my F6 with out the extra $. Any Ideas would be great. Thanks, Justinjava script:emoticon('')

Without spending money? Check your oil:fuel ratio. You may be able to back it off, saveing you a couple dollars and increaseing performance a little.

I guess I should have been a little clearer. I am willing to spend money just not the major dollars that come with motor mods. I would be willing to put in about $500 dollars worth of stuff. Just wondering what would give the best bang for bucks. Thanks for your reply.

Good clutching. :div20:

Best bang for the buck? $500 would have got you a F7. Maybe you have certain curcumstances but I see it a lot where people get the F6 to save money but then spend the price difference between the F6 and F7 in mods for the F6.

But ah, back to your qustion, clutching would be the best start. I say ODS.

I am new to the snowmobile modifying world. Always have been driving stock before. What do you guys know about reed valves? Do they give much of a horsepower boost? I was thinkin of maybe putting a set of Boyesen Power Reeds or Vforce? I've been reading forums on this site since I joined (maybe a week ago). There are alot of guys out there that know there stuff it seems. I thought I would put my faith in the pros. Also what do you guys think of a Snocross style helmet over a full face one? I ride pretty agressivley and have heard snocross style are way lighter. Thanks again Guys.

P.S. I went for the F6 just to try and Spruce it up and scare those 700 riders out there!

More info please! Is the sled studded? sno pro? I would say CPR clutching and maybe .010" off the heads . Mild exhaust port work would also be reasonable. Phone Cpr or check out D&D'S Canadian store- Dons speed shop. I think they are in Alberta, I've had good luck buying from those guys. :beerchug:

Nope no studs. It is a standard suspension. Shaper bar turning rods and MBRP Can. What do you think of a Bikeman pipe mod and a timing key Burns?
By the way i am firecat6sawchuk and HivoltageF6.

1st and foremost I would have to say stud it !! Watch the timing key as alot of Arctic Cats are very close in the midrange. What I mean by that is they have alot of timing already. The pipe mod should help. It will have to wait till snow , but jetting might get you a little. Find someone to port those barrels and cut the haed. :beerchug:

HEHE, its more fun to beat/ run with doo 800's with a 600 than it is with the 700. Plus its a toss up between the 05 F6 and F7 anyways as far as who gets across the lake first. With the new fusion 600 coming out this year its a good year to be on an F6, beating up on the Doo Super Low output rev 600's got old pretty quick.

Don't mess with a timing key, I've heard the 600 already has a pretty hot mid and the maximum you can go is around 2 deg., not really worth it when you think of the flip side.

I'd put the money into clutching, maybe install some bullseyes, tpi's etc into the airbox. Also all the motor mods are a total waste of time if your untudded with the 1" track. So some good quality studs are in order or the big lug track if you don't ride on ice much. If your trying to make the sled go as fast as possible put the stock silencer back on, your just making more noise and going slower with Mbrp, sell it and buy something useful with the money. Also some C&A ski's will make a huge improvement over stock. These mods will keep the engine pretty much stock reliable.

Keep in mind if you don't have alot of money to mod the sled, your certainly not gonna have alot of money to fix it when it pops. So mod accordingly. Also don't know about your F6 but mine from the factory was a complete Oil Whore, almost had to tow it home the first day of riding drank the resivoir in 110 miles. So be prepared to adjust if you haven't already.
