WTF, is there anywhere in michigan without road construction?? they fix it and its $hit the next year anyway, i am tired or running into it all over, you go to Canton its all over, you go to Telegraph, or southfield freeway, you name it there is always constuction and delays. And you always see the workers sitting around, well most of the time anyway, and i am not blaming the workers, they have to have orders to do work, but dam all the money to fix em, then they are $hit again in a year and then we are back where we started. :banghead:

I drive to MI quite a bit on business and your construction traffic jams you speak of are better than our regular rush hour road congestion up here in T.O. :banghead:
red04zr900efisnopro
it just sucks, then you have big pot holes that tear up your vehicle and they were just fixed last year and all messed up again, then around sled time 75 and 23 has construction cones and lanes blocked to make it tougher to go north :banghead:
red04zr900efisnopro
Dam that would suck for traffic to be that way fulltime, i know its bad in California, its getting bad everywhere now, more drivers and population getting bigger and all, its just life

Like they say, there's 2 seasons in Michigan, CONSTRUCTION :banghead: and WINTER
red04zr900efisnopro
thats the truth, i seen plenty on I-75 and US-23 going up to Rose City and back, cones and barrells for miles and nobody working and the ones you did see working or standing i should say were miles from the cones up the road. :banghead:

What the hell does that have to do with anything? What it does mean is the laborers and operators are well trained, work safely, earn a wage they can actually pay their bills with and will have pension to retire with.
The workers don't do the design and spec.
Get your head out.

I hear ya, i hate the traffic to and there is tons of it full time when headed north :banghead: I just hope the cones are gone by sled season, but they are usually there, and i cant understand why when there is a frost law, and you can lay anymore concrete on the roads, but somehow someway the cones are still up!!

Well put

oh boo hoo so you have to wait for 10 minutes whats the problem? Maybe if you tried that work with it being 90+ degrees and standing on the back of the paver with a full load of asphalt you woudlnt complain its like being in an oven.Give em a brake with all the lunatic drivers there are today they have to put the barrels a damn mile away from the guys for their saftey. Having people fly passed you when you are working is not cool and most jackass people do it, its quite scary at times.

Well i think when they say union they think little to no work, i know its that way with the big 3 years ago, but unions are scarce so they have to work now. i worked in the union for commercial carpentry and we had to bust ass, now electricians, tin nockers and plumbers on the other hand were on break with donuts and coffee on my drywall pial all day!! I am not bitching about that though, its their luck and not mine, plus they get a little more cash per hour then i did to when i was a journeyman union carpenter, but i do feel for you road workers i have buddies tah tdo it and run the machines, its dangerous as far as the crazy drivers i agree, i just complained about always being work on the roads, not the people doing it :div20: I am not cutting anyone down!!

Gaylord is all tore up also, they wait till the festival starts and tear up a main road, and then start working on one of the roads used to get around the other construction area, it will be over soon though luxhello.gif

Amazing how I can get over my distaste for Arctic Cats and agree with my brethren....

I bet yeah would love to make the $39.85 an hour this union worker makes!!! as to the $ 13.50 he makes in saginaw..... :wut60:

It is inevitable that there will be construction on Michigan roads this time of year. Remember that we bassically killed our rail road infastructure back in the 70s . This has lead to more and more maximum weight loaded trucks on the road now. The roads cannot take this kind of abuse combined with our extream freeze/thaw cycle.
What Michigan needs to do is lower the max wieght and do a better job of enforcing it. This costs every one who lives in Michigan and anyone who buys fuel here. Or better yet rebuild the R/Rs and get the trucks off of the Interstates.
red04zr900efisnopro
Well put :div20: The government creates a new job like trucking or making it bigger, not thinking about the other one they are killing!! :div20:
