I have a 03 800 ves premix, the lube for the crank bearings come off the carbs. I was just woundering if I could get a seperate oil jug to lube the crank bearings? Or is it fine to come off the carbs? THANKS

The oil line for the outer crank bearing on the PTO side comes directly from the oil pump, not from the carbs.Just leave your oil pump hooked up for lubrication.

I don't think I have a oil pump. Where is it? I can see the hoses come from the carbs to the crank bearings. This was a sno-x sled. Just want to make it trailable this year. THANKS Jason

If you are running pre mix you shouldn't have an oil pump, if I am thinking logically. Why would you have one? You should have a line going from the carb to the crank bearing like you said. A oil tank and line to the bearing is an idea but then you need something to pump and regulate that oil.

Whould gravity do that? I don't know I just trying to make it better? Because I know polaris 800's are known for bad crank bearings. THANKS Jason :beerchug:

You have a 800 thats a 2003 twin and no oil pump?Even if it was pre-mix gas converted Sno-X Sled they should have left the oil pump alone and should still be there.

Hi, I will be getting the sled tomarrow And I can look at it. and I could post pictures up too. THANKS Jason

If you're going to be trail riding, you'll want oil injection...trust me. If the sled is actually premix, then hopefully the guy who did it drilled holes to the bearings to allow oil to get to them. Oil lines from the carb to the bearings are worthless, they wont do anything, and may have been hooked up that way to just plug the holes.

Hey I picked up the sled. It's a 02 800 built up in 03. Where is the oil pump if it would have one? Thanks Jason :celebrating:

Oil pump is on the mag side ( pull cord ) of engine on the recoil cord housing. should be four oil lines . One ought to go from pump over the top of your carb boots to the PTO ( drive belt) side of motor and attach to nipple on main being. Or at least it does on my 03 700

If your not clear PM me and I'll email you a couple pics. :beerchug:

I don't have the oil pump. It looks to me that it has that slp plate for eliminating the oil injection. Dave Tryqstad built up the engine maybe I should try to talk to him.
