I would like to know if my 99 mxz 600 would beat my friend's 03 f5. My sled has a clutch kit on it. He has been telling me that he is going to smoke me but I want to know if I could beat him before I embarrase myself. I think my sled would take it but I just want to know what you guys think.

well personaly i have a f6 and i would like to say the f5 would win, but i kno the f5 will take you out of the hole and if your racing on a lake then you will win... if your on the trail at a much shorter distance it's going to be very close ( you'd probaly win) Good luck

We would probably race on the lake or in a field. My sled stands right up pretty good, but the suspension is set a little lower. If I raised it up would it make a difference?

To race you want to remove your blocks at the back which will allow your sled to sink right down and go...but as for racing....no other way to find out but race..your comparing apples to apples....well sorts...but it's not like yer racing an F6 or 7, so you should be pretty close...I'd say you'd win, but keyboard racing never really works!!

99's dont have "blocks" ...they have an "A.C.M." :div20:

my friend has a 98 mxz 600 with 144 picks and clutch kit, i have an 03 f5 snopro with no picksand clutch kit and he holeshots me everytime NO MATTER WHAT! he takes me by about 2-3 sleds everytime from a stop
when we go from a 30 mph roll i will pull 1-2 sleds on him and we stay very close all the way.

I have the A.D. Bovien suspension kit, (I think thats how you spell it). I have a clutch kit but no picks. I just got the sled this spring so I don't know how fast it goes. I have played around on the yard with it and she picks right up. I'm probably going to set the suspension up higher to try to prevent that and also because it is a little to low for how I like it. If that helps I am probably going to get 96 or 144 picks for it.

I think the rated HP's for these two sled should be fairly close, and in a 700 ft
drag you would probably swap wins. In a longer race, you would definately have the advantage. Best advice would be put 144 studs in it, and make sure you have your suspension dialed in at the beginning of the season so when its race time you are ready for him.

This isn't BS: I raced my cousin while he was on his dads 02 mxz 600, both bone stock except i have studs. I beat him 2 out of 3 races on a lake.

The bigger sled doesn't always win, depends on alot of different things,HP, snow conditions, poorly tuned, two drivers weight and distance, when the two are equal mostly the sled with the HP will win.
since you didn't win 3 out of 3 it must be close, and your 14, There may be weight diff.

A properly set up MXZ 600 can easily take the F5,the Rev 440 beats the F5 at grass drags all the time.Just because it's a Cat doesn't mean it's an F7,which is the fastest stock sled that cat makes and does well at the drags. The F5 and F6 have there hands full with Polaris and Doo.
