Our second photo contest spans the 4th of July and Canada Day (July 1st). For this contest the theme will be patriotic. All entries should somehow involve activities relating to these holidays. Parades, fireworks, etc.. Whatever is going on in your local area in terms of celebrating the holiday. We will pick the 3 best entries for each country so there will be 6 winners total. Each winner will receive a HCS sticker of their choice. All photos entered in the contest should be new photos taken this year. Contest will end July 31 and winning photos will be posted on August 1st. All contest entries should be posted to this gallery: CLICK HERE Photos will be judged on interesting content, good composition, technical correctness (focus, color, light, etc). As always I will try to offer some contructive criticism along the way. The object being to have fun while improving your picture taking skills.

Have fun and I'm looking forward to seeing some great photos luxhello.gif

Announcing the second photo contest winners!

Sorry to say we didn't have a very good turnout on this contest, so I'm ending it a little early and there are only three winners instead of the six I had planned for. However, these three are very good entries, and I especially like the fireworks images from "snow4brains". These took a real effort, mounting the camera on a tripod and experimenting with exposure to get the best images. And the results show it. These are spectacular fireworks shots. And they will be on the HCS homepage for awhile.
