Guys I got in a bind in march and sold my 03 proxr 600, so now I am going to build another one.
I loved the 03 chassis, but now they are hard to find in good shape.
Has anyone put a large tank on an 04, and if so how much of a pain was it??
Can you get the kit from polaris for the 04???
thanks

Big tank is no problem on '04. Come up with something yourself or get a bracket from one of the guys over at snowest. Are you planning on switching out motor?? If not, save yourself some future hassle and tear '04 440 down and switch out water pump gears with '03 parts. '04 440 will not survive for long on trail with stocks gears.

ok cool, for some reason I thought it was a pain for the big tank on the 04.
If I buy the 04 the 440 will come out and be replaced with a 600 or 800.

Did you have to move your seat back at all with the big tank??
Also when trail riding it was it a pain in the a$$ or was it somewhat comfortable.
I loved trail riding my 03 but the 04 steering is a bit further ahead.
thanks

Seat went back about 2" for big tank, no biggie standing on this type of sled anyways. The width right near the console with the big tank was a bit cumbersome. Pro x 11.8 gallon tank has "ears" that will hang out over the tunnel on '04 440 that are tucked behind the console on a normal pro x sled. For me it worked out okay, I tucked my legs right up against tank and found it useful helping me hold on. I'm 5'10", if your shorter it may not work well though.
