Biggest whitfish I've ever seen, that's for sure. My brother works for a research organization that nets a lot of fish and they pulled these two fatties up the other afternoon. They release everything that's alive but unfortunately a high fatality rate is characteristic of gill netting, so they keep whatever dies in the nets. Needless to say the freezer is full of fish of all sorts and sizes. I think he plans to smoke these two.

Nice fish. Been a long time since I fished for them finicky bastards. Tasty though. Spent a lot of time last week up around The Pas and Flin Flon fishing. Fishing was crazy

I've never fished "for them", but caught a couple. Not that big though. Those two were tasty smoked, that's for sure.

Do you guys smoke your own fish or do you get someone else to smoke them for you ?
